GFWC Sebastian River Junior Woman's Club

A Proud Member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs

Our club annually has over 200 service projects.  Last year we donated over $15, 000 back into this community, and volunteered over 4,500 hours.  Below are just some of our projects.

Members of our club have fun on Literacy Day at the Library.  They dress up like storybook characters and then read their books to children of all ages, acting out the part as they read to the children.

The purpose of National Night Out is to make the community aware of the various police and medical services available to the citizens of Sebastian.  Our club along with the Woman’s Club and our local police department are involved.  Demonstrations, fingerprinting, WHALE, blood pressure are just some of the displays.  Refreshments are served.

Every Christmas we hold this activity for the children of our community. We do not charge for this event, but we do accept donations to the local food pantry. This year we had over 10 crafts set up for children to assemble and decorate.  Santa also makes an appearance.

The location of our butterfly garden is near the beginning of a walking trail at Hardee Park. The garden was built three years ago by the Juniors and the Woman’s Club.  It is maintained by the Juniors.

Along with the City of Sebastian, SPOA, and the Chamber, we assist with the parade and build and man the Santa House in the Park the first weekend of December.
